Guiding care, legacy projects, and planning so memories travel on.
Meet a Death Doula

Hey there, I'm Bethany
I’m an End-of-Life Doula, Advanced Care Planner and Community Educator — I support individuals and families around the dying process with presence, planning, and compassionate guidance. Whether someone is facing a terminal illness or simply preparing for the future, I help create meaningful, supported transitions, legacy projects, and space for what's often left unsaid. Live intentionally, and die with dignity. Let's chat about your expectations and ensure they can happen.
All About Me
My journey into this work didn’t begin in a clinic or a classroom—it began in the world of food and hospitality. Looking back, it makes perfect sense. Service has always been my love language. Food led to a 15-year career in foodservice, where I worked as a department head, hands-on leader, and team player. I learned how to listen deeply, respond intuitively, and create spaces where people feel genuinely cared for. I had a lot of fun along the way—but eventually, that trajectory led to extreme burnout and a hard reckoning with how I was spending my time. I began asking myself: What do I have to show for 15 years of my precious life?

I left a thriving career and moved my family to the mountains. There, I slowed down, listened inward, and reconnected with what mattered most—owning my time. I launched my own hospitality consulting company, which checked all the boxes: autonomy, meaningful connection, and the freedom to design my days. I loved meeting new people and working on a wide range of projects, often beginning with the same question:
“What brings you happiness and holds the most value for you? Great—let’s start there.”

After two unexpected deaths and one particularly difficult end-of-life experience, our family relocated again—this time to a farm near loved ones who needed our support. In that season, I found myself naturally applying my skills in a more intimate and meaningful way, offering comfort, presence, and connection while creating deeper purpose in my daily life.
Once we were settled, I began engaging more with neighbors and elders in our community. The transition into doula work felt surprisingly natural. I had already spent years asking business owners questions about purpose and legacy; as a death doula, those same conversations became centered on life, not just work. What started as simple weekly visits—often a game of checkers and shared stories—quietly grew into a new path.

Humans are storytellers. I humbly serve my community by helping individuals and families tell, preserve, and prepare their stories. I also host workshops and gatherings that invite more open conversations around death, grief, and legacy—because I believe we all deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported through life’s most profound moments.

Death care was once a powerful intergenerational connector. Today, it’s often outsourced and sterilized. Whether you’re navigating illness, caring for a loved one, or simply curious about approaching the end of life more intentionally, I’m here to walk alongside you. Doulas make time, let's chat!
