What is an End of Life Doula

NEDA Certified and Trained Death Doulas

End-of-Life Doulas provide non-medical ,palliative, and holistic support for individuals and families during the dying process with presence, planning, and compassionate guidance through emotional, spiritual, and practical assistance. Whether someone is facing a terminal illness or simply preparing for the future, we assist in creating meaningful, supported transitions, legacy projects, and space for what's often left unsaid. We help individuals explore their life and legacy, provide companionship during the dying process, and offer support for loved ones through their grief.

Many people aren’t aware that end-of-life doulas exist, or how we can complement medical care and funeral services. Most have heard of a Birthing Doula, we are so similar. A Birthing Doula facilitates a healthy and peaceful gestation and entry into this world for mom and baby; an End of Life Doula ensures comfortable, peaceful last moments and exit into the next world (wherever that is!) for the dying and their Village. An EOLD's role focuses on guiding individuals and families through advanced care planning, emotional and practical support, and creating meaningful ways to honor life while navigating the transition of dying.

EOLD’s are changing the narrative around death. In our current culture, where conversations about death can feel difficult or avoided, we’ve found that people are actually very deeply relieved to have a safe space to plan, talk, and receive this type of support. Families have shared that this care helped to ease their anxiety and allowed them to focus on connection and being present in those final days. Contact us to book your free initial consultation to discuss your needs and have a productive conversation around death. It will literally change your life!
